Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 Set For Saturday With NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
Race Advance by Souza Media HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. – Justin Bonsignore heads across the state of New York this weekend, as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will roll into Lancaster Motorplex for the Nu-Way Auto Parts 150 on Saturday night, August 5. In what has become the 10th race of the season due to the rain at Claremont Motorsports Park last weekend, Bonsignore is still the most recent winner on the series, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 15. The three-time series champion is ready to begin a busy August this weekend on the Whelen Modified Tour - with events at Lancaster (August 5), Thompson Speedway (August 16) and Langley Speedway (August 26) marking upcoming events. Once August ends, the true battle for the championship will be on during a stacked September and October as Bonsignore chases his fourth title with Kenneth Massa Motorsports. The series veteran knows every race matters. But, as it has been for his entire career chasing wins and championships, he just takes it one race at a time, and aims to get the best out of each race day. “We ran there back in 2021 and we had a good finish with second,” Bonsignore said. “It’s another track we don’t have a ton of laps on with the Whelen Modified Tour, but we always enjoy the efforts of figuring out different tracks in our series. Some guys have more laps there in other divisions, so they will be tough to beat. We’re looking forward to the challenge ahead of us heading into Lancaster.” Saturday’s schedule for race day at Lancaster includes one Whelen Modified Tour practice session from 2:20-3:20 p.m., followed by Mayhew Tools qualifying at 5 p.m. and the green flag for the race is set for 8 p.m., live on FloRacing.TV.
