Justin Bonsignore was back on the track Sunday at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, wheeling the No. 51 for Kenneth Massa Motorsports in the third race of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season.
Bonsignore was second fastest in practice, then posted the quickest time in pole qualifying for the Icebreaker 150. The pole was Bonsignore’s 31st career on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, and he continues to climb up the all-time list. The Connecticut oval had a strong crowd to see the green flag for the Icebreaker 15 just before 5 p.m. Bonsignore jumped out front early and led laps, then settled into the top-five comfortably for the duration of the race. After a long run to the end, Bonsignore brought the No. 51 Phoenix Communications entry home in a strong fourth-place. The top-five run was the third in three NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races for Bonsignore to open the 2024 season. Bonsignore will be on track next on April 27-28 at Stafford Motor Speedway, driving the historic No. 7NY for Tommy Baldwin Racing. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and the Kenneth Massa Motorsports crew will be back on track at Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, May 4.
