THOMPSON, Conn. – Justin Bonsignore scored a fifth-place finish on Thursday night in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour return to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. In the Phoenix Communications 150, Bonsignore qualified in the fourth spot, and ran inside the top-10 for most of the race. In the final laps, he charged up into the bottom of the top-five and survived a few late restarts to retain his position. The 12-time Thompson winner didn’t add another victory to his list at the Connecticut oval, but it was a solid night for the team on a special night, with multiple Phoenix Communications employees in the house. “We can’t thank Phoenix Communications enough for sponsoring our team and the race as a whole at Thompson,” Bonsignore said. “We worked hard to get back into the top-five and grab what we could in the final laps of the race. We’re looking forward to returning to Thompson later in the season for the World Series.” Justin Bonsignore will return to the track on Saturday, August 27, at Langley Speedway in Virginia for another round of NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour racing.
